New Line is wasting no time promoting HIS DARK MATERIALS: THE GOLDEN
COMPASS, the first in what’s sure to be an epic fantasy trilogy on par with THE LORD OF THE RINGS, by activating the film’s official site a full year prior to its
release. What’s more, this isn’t some rinky dink teaser site either. The site is chalk full of great stuff, including new pictures, two of which are below, showing Daniel Craig
as the brooding, mysterious Lord Asriel, Sam Elliot as the adventurer Lee Scoresby, a look at the gyptians and concept design for protagonist Lyra Belacqua’s (played by
Dakota Blue Richards) home in Oxford and armored bear Iorek Byrnison, and a section dedicated to the titular alethiometer in which you can use it to unlock a few
secrets. From what’s shown here, this film may just blow away the fantasy competition next year. Click through to check out the site. It opens December 7th.
