With Tim Burton’s interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND two months from release, Disney has just issued an official first look at Johnny Depp as the iconic Mad Hatter. And guess what…the dude looks straight up weird. Big shocker, eh?!?
In theaters March 5th, Mia Wasikowska plays the titular 19 year old who returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.
Burton benefits from a helluva supporting cast, including his own ball and chain Helena Bonham Carter (below), as well as Crispin Glover, Alan Rickman, Anne Hathaway, Michael Sheen, Christopher Lee, Stephen Fry, Timothy Spall, Barbara Windsor, and Matt Lucas.
Longtime Disney scribe Linda Woolverton (THE LION KING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST) adapted the screenplay.
