Goran Visnjic joins the cast of David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

The cast continues to roll in for THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, with the latest addition being Goran Visnjic, who previously starred on “ER” and appeared in ELEKTRA. He will play Dragan Armansky, the CEO of a security firm that employs lead character Lisbeth Salander. The character appears in the entire trilogy, and Visnjic has signed on for all three films.

Visnjic joins Rooney Mara (below), Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright, Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Bengt W.C. Carlsson, Mathilda von Esse and Yorick van Wageningen. Here is the synopsis:

Forty years ago, when Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist and the tattooed, ruthless computer hacker Lisbeth Salander to investigate. When the pair link Harriet’s disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from almost forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vanger’s are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves.

The film is directed by David Fincher (THE SOCIAL NETWORK, FIGHT CLUB, ZODIAC) and written by Steven Zaillian (SCHINDLER’S LIST, AMIERCAN GANGSTER, HANNIBAL), who adapted the script from Stieg Larsson’s novel. It is set to hit theaters on December 21, 2011 via Sony Pictures.
