Goss leads Death Race

You may or may not be on board with Paul WS Anderson’s DEATH RACE, but there has to be a little bit of ya excited for Universal’s STD follow-up DEATH RACE: FRANKENSTEIN LIVES, if only because you know it’ll be trashier than it’s predecessor and hopefully just as fun.

So who will take the shoes of Frankenstein in the prequel? Accroding to MovieHole, FRANKENSTEIN LIVES’ new leading man is actor Luke Goss, best known for his roles in HELLBOY 2 (as the evil Prince Nuada) and BLADE II. Goss will be playing the right-hand man for a notorious mobster, who is busted for killing a cop in the process of robbing a bank. Once behind the bars of Terminal Island, the confident newcomer is roped into entering the ‘big race’ by it’s green-eyed producer, and becomes the fast-driving Frankenstien before Jason Statham’s character takes over in the prequel.

The guy certainly looks like a Statham-clone, and it should be easier for him to play a character with the same name (Luke). But like I said before, I’m stoked on FRANKENSTEIN LIVES, and hope it does so well that a third one will be made for the theatrical audience. Hey, it could happen, right? Ok, maybe not…
