Dread Central got word that the David Goyer-Platinum Dunes project we first told you about HERE is finally getting ready to roll – although it still lacks a title.
The possession-themed thriller will get underway March 3rd in Chicago, IL, no cast details have emerged as of yet. Here’s the wacky lowdown, however: The untitled possession story tells of a girl who is haunted by a Dybbuk, the soul of a dead person who has been banned from heaven, in the form of a young boy who died back in Auschwitz.
That just ain’t right. Either this little boy from Auschwitz (!) was banned from Heaven because he was a real bastard, or St. Peter’s got some serious ‘splainin to do. The kid was in Auschwitz – what do you got to do to get past the pearly gates, slip this dude a twenty?
Of course, this is all the info we have – I’m going to go ahead and assume we don’t know everything just yet… What I do know is, some of my least favorite horror movies of the past couple years have been made by Platinum Dunes (THE HITCHER, that goddamn TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE prequel that was so ridiculously off-the-mark), but the fact that this is neither a sequel nor remake might be a good sign.
UPDATE: Surprise surprise, the Dunes is pillaging NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET next… Will wonders never cease…
Alright, so THE HITCHER had Sophia Bush going for it…
