Graves trailer

I’m a sucker for 90s horror. Don’t get me wrong, you can’t beat the 80s. But I dug a lot of those slashers and teen horror flicks that hit us after the success of SCREAM. Call it a guilty pleasure. All things come to an end though and those flicks eventually gave way to the remakes and torture porns.

Though there’s still a few flicks floating around with the 90s vibe. One of those flicks is OPEN GRAVES. The quick synopsis reads: A group of surfers discover an old board game that claims a life every time it’s played. You can check out the trailer below.

It’s like JUMANJI meets FINAL DESTINATION and for some reason… I’m all for that! The flick looks pretty original, well aside from the whole ‘group of teens getting picked off one by one’ bit. The only other flick that might resemble OPEN GRAVES would be STAY ALIVE, which is a flick everyone has their opinions about.

Anyway, check out the OPEN GRAVES trailer below and judge for yourself. Along with the hint of originality and cool synopsis, this one looks like it’s going to have some decent gore as well. Crabs tearing someones face apart… awesome! One downfall with the trailer is that I feel like it might be giving too much away, but we’ll see I guess.

The flick is the directorial debut of Álvaro de Armiñán with a script from Bruce and Roderick Taylor. OPEN GRAVES also has a decent cast with a couple key names. Those names being Eliza Dushku (below) and Mike Vogel. Joining them will be Alex O’Dogherty, Ethan Rains, Naike Rivelli, Lindsay Caroline Robba, and Boris Martinez. No release date for OPEN GRAVES yet, so we’ll keep you updated.
