Greene Summer

The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning that the indie thriller SUMMER is not only being made but is already halfway though filming on location in Ottawa. It’s surprising that it’s gone this far without really making a ‘bleep’ on the Upcoming Movies Radar, especially since the overall premise sounds cool and it stars one of the stars from the highly anticipated TWILIGHT.

Highly anticipated, that is, if you’re a teenage girl. Regardless, SUMMER stars TWILIGHT’s Ashley Greene (pictured), WATCHMEN’s Stephen McHattie, Barbara Niven, and Peter Mooney, and is directed by Lee De Marbre. But wait, what is this flick all about? THR spilled the beans as to the synopsis; however, it’s still not very clear. Check it out: Greene encounters deranged kinfolk on her quest to find the father she’s never known.

Ok. I’m still not really sure what this f*cker is all about, but I do like ‘deranged kinfolk,’ as I’m thinking along the lines of cannibalistic inbreds ala WRONG TURN, which would be kind of fun.

Since filming is already half-through, they should be finished fairly soon, so keep it around here for more updates (new stills, etc.) on SUMMER as they come our way!
