UPDATE: Soon after writing this article, I noticed that Greutert’s site has been wiped clean of entries. W.T.F?!

Looks like Kevin Greutert’s fight for justice is not going very well.
Yesterday, I brought you into the mind set of the SAW VI and VII director, who admitted he was “in the middle of something really terrible” but also vowed to “fight for justice”. As you can see from Greutert’s latest blog entry, he’s evidently losing that fight. And the prospect of making SAW VII to him is, shall we say, less than appealing.
I just had the task of telling my 83 year old mother that no, I’m not going to be allowed to direct the movie we were all so excited about when my family last got together, and that I’m being forced to leave town before getting a chance to see her again. Yes, I’ll be filming people getting tortured YET AGAIN. So we’ll have to put off me making a film she can actually watch for another year. I’m not making this shit up.
The dude brought his 83-year-old grandmother into this. Damn.
I don’t know how Lionsgate expects to come off as anything but classless after this fiasco. They’re making a movie with a director who will have a chip on his shoulder the entire production. And what of the actors? Are their performances of any concern, when they have to work with a pissed-off and disinterested Greutert? I’m not implying that the man will be unprofessional – but clearly, this will be an uncomfortable set to be on.
