Grimlock vomits up a police car in new Transformers: The Last Knight trailer

As we're close to five films in on Paramount's TRANSFORMERS franchise, you're either on-board with Michael Bay's particular brand of high-octane action or you're not. A brand-new trailer for TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT has arrived, complete with plenty of giant robot mayhem, but I highly doubt that it's going to win over anyone who isn't already invested in the series. Instead of Mark Wahlberg, this trailer puts the focus squarely on Isabela Moner, who will be playing the street-wise orphan Izabella who seems to have an affinity for several of the Transformers.

I'm certainly up for witnessing the latest TRANSFORMERS story through younger eyes, but I'm not sure that the segments in which Izabella is talking to the camera are working for me; here's hoping that they're used somewhat differently in the finished film or were produced purely for the marketing campaign.

The official synopsis for TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT:

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock). There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.

TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT will open in theaters on June 23, 2017.
