Grindhouse gets a rating

“Rated R for strong graphic bloody violence and gore, pervasive language, some sexuality, nudity and drug use.” That’s what ya like to see… Today, as GRINDHOUSE comes closer and closer to blowing our collective minds, it finally receives a rating AND a running time, after weeks of speculation. It’s rated R for all that good stuff above, and it’s clocking in at 3 hours and 5 minutes. That includes the faux-trailers, ads, whatever else they’re throwing in…

Honestly, neither is a huge surprise: we knew it wasn’t gonna get an NC-17, we knew it was gonna feature strong graphic bloody violence and gore, and we figured it would be around 3 hours long. But it’s nice to know it’s official, and now only one question remains: How’re we going to sit in a theater that long when we’re drinking all that beer? Can’t very well walk out during the “intermission…” Damn you Life, with all your grotesque twists of fate!!

If you’ve been standing in a dark room with your eyes closed and your fingers plugged into your ears for the past year, GRINDHOUSE, a double-feature directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, and featuring trailers by Rob Zombie, Eli Roth, and Edgar Wright, comes out April 6. Prepare accordingly.
