The sequel to started filming today in Tokyo. And as I’m sure you’re all counting down the minutes until this bitch hits theaters, it’s time to start to get excited!
THE GRUDGE 2 tells the ongoing tale of the uncanny wrath of the grudge that kills, by intertwining a group of seemingly unrelated characters as they begin dropping like flies one by one. Can’t you just feel the terror jumping off the screen already?

The one cool thing is that director Takashi Shimizu is returning to direct, with Stephen Susco returning as the scribe, with both Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert returning to produce. What do these guys think of the new project? Here’s Raimi himself:”It promises to deliver gripping sequences of suspense and shocking jolts that should have the fans of ‘The Grudge’ part 1 leaping out of their seats and coming back to the theater again and again.”
Well at least someone is actually excited to see this movie made. I don’t know, but something about this just seems so goddamn force-fed, doesn’t it? Like, do we really need a sequel here? And I could have sworn Gellar died at the end of the movie- why’s she back? And if she’s not back, why make it? Oh yeah- money. Sweet. Some more PG-13 horror fun. Look for it in theaters October 20th, 2006- and be sure to mark your calendars! October is fillin’ up!
