Guillermo Del Toro joins Nightmare Alley remake & Nick Antosca’s Antlers

Looks like Guillermo Del Toro has yet another new film all lined up as director with the newly announced remake of NIGHTMARE ALLEY (1947), which he will co-write the script with Kim Morgan.

On top of that, we learned via Deadline that del Toro will produce Scott Cooper's supernatural flick ANTLERS from Nick Antosca and Henry Chaisson, and based on Antosca's short story “The Quiet Boy”.

ANTLERS tells the story of a young teacher who discovers that her troubled student’s father and younger brother harbor a deadly supernatural secret. Taking the boy into her care, the teacher must fight for their survival against horrors beyond imagination.

And NIGHTMARE ALLEY centers around an ambitious young con-man who hooks up with a female psychiatrist who is even more corrupt than he is. At first, they enjoy success fleecing people with their mentalist act, but then she turns the table on him, out-manipulating the manipulator.

Del Toro on his new deals:

I am delighted to continue the producing partnership that has been forged with Fox Searchlight during the making of The Shape of Water. Nancy, Steve, David and Matthew and the entire team are great champions of true cinema. With both ‘Nightmare Alley’ and ‘Antlers’ I know we will create entertaining, elevated films.

We will let you know once we hear more on ANTLERS and NIGHTMARE ALLEY, but until then make sure to let us know what you think of the films thus far in the comments below or on social media!
