We just received a press release announcing the directorial debut of TRENT HAAGA called CHOP. The film will begin production on NOVEMBER 11 in Los Angeles.
CHOP centers on a seemingly innocent young couple, forced by a psychotic stranger to confront their duplicitous past. CHOP is a revenge thriller with a comedic edge in the tradition of “Fargo” and “Oldboy.”
If you don’t recognize the name, Trent Haaga (pictured) has been toiling away in the independent horror scene for a long time, notably within the bowels of TROMA, where he wrote CITIZEN TOXIE and co-wrote the Lloyd Kaufman book “MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN MOVIE!” He recently went mainstream – well, compared to Troma, anyway – when he wrote the zombie horror flick DEADGIRL. He also wrote POOR THINGS, which comes out next year and stars Shirley MacLaine and Lindsay Lohan(!!!). Haaga has also starred in a ton of flicks with the most curious titles. Check out his IMDB page to check them out.
CHOP stars “powerhouse” Indian actress Tanishaa Mukherjee (pictured below) and newcomer Billy Bakshi.
