Hack/Slash creator Tim Seeley scares werewolf prey in Wild Game

Another werewolf’s bark is heard!

Word from of the Bloody-D squad has it that Tim Seeley, creator of the popular comic run HACK/SLASH, is knee deep in bringing about a new comic series that takes a peek into the world of hyper-violent lycanthropes. WILD GAME is the name of the project, and even though the comics have not yet been released, Underground Films and Daniel Alter are joining forces to adapt the shite as a live-action motion picture. Well alright!

With Kevin Seamus Fahey (“Battle Star Galactica,” “The Forgotten”) at the typewriter, WILD GAME is set In a world where Werewolves were long ago hunted nearly to extinction by humans and thought only to be urban legends, the few remaining packs live among us in secret. But, the beast can’t be caged forever. Once a year: runaways, homeless people, anyone who won’t be missed… are captured and brought to a secluded private destination to be hunted for game by the last living Werewolves on earth.

Sounds like a pretty entertaining detour, no? Don’t know why, but I’m instantly struck with visions of DEATH RACE meeting that Lee Marvin flick, what was it, HELL IN THE PACIFIC? Yeah, doubt that’ll jive with any of you…but those are the two titles that instantly leapt out at me.

Look, with werewolf pictures flirting with oversaturation at the moment, it’s fair to assume we’re gonna see a lot more BAD movies than GOOD ones in the near future. This is a major cause for concern. First off, a good werewolf movie is hard to achieve…as evidenced by small number of truly superior efforts in the subgenre (verses the innumerable lot of inferior ones). It’s always been that way. But with everything from NEW MOON to an updated TEEN WOLF, and all that sits in between, the question of whether or not a legit cinematic werewolf will return still remains. I mean, if Benicio and Hopkins couldn’t get it done, who will?

NEW MOON’s Ashley Greene!
