Hader slasher coming

A while back word on the street broke over at CHUD that funny man Bill Hader was in the works with Judd Apatow to bring a new comedy slasher film to the big screen. Cool idea in concept, but was it for real or just the ramblings of someone wanting to do something different. The answer? Both.

Hader got back in touch with CHUD and let them know that he has just finished the first draft of the script and has handed it over to Apatow Productions for them to work it over and finalize. Awesome!

The previously untitled movie is now titled THE HOUSE OF JOEL (briefly titled WHEN A STRANGER CALLS A DUDE), and is set to star Hader as Joel. But what’s the sucker about, anyway? Here’s a taste as explained by Hader himself: It is definitely about guys nowadays, that idea that you watch fucked up shit on TV, how violence in our culture… The idea of that thing coming to your house, and what do you do?… What if that guy decided to come to your house? What would you and your dipshit friends do about it?

Hell yeah! I can dig the premise, and I can dig Hader’s comedic take on it as well. That dude is hella funny, and I think the world needs a horror comedy from the fine folks at Apatow Productions–I mean, why the hell not, right? At least you know it would be rated R!

Maybe there will be a part for Apatow regular Elizabeth Banks!
