All I’ve heard about this week is the adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s ENDER’S GAME. The heat really picked up yesterday when the rumors started about Harrison Ford in talks for a role as the Colonel.
Now it looks like Hailee Steinfeld (TRUE GRIT) is in negotiations for a part as well. So far the only person cast is Asa Butterfield in the lead as Ender, a gifted young gamer skilled in strategy and logistics who’s recruited by the government to help battle an insect-like alien race.
If Steinfeld boards, she will play Petra Arkanian, the only girl in Salamander Army who quickly becomes Ender’s ally and trusted right hand.
The role of Colonel Hyrum Graff is still up for grabs, as I mentioned before, Ford is only in talks and not locked down. Apparently they are going through testing several actors. Gavin Hood is set to direct the film which is due for release on March 15, 2013.
