Haley 3x the Freddy

News is breaking over at B-D that Jackie Earle Haley, the new Freddy Krueger in the Platinum Dunes’ remake of Wes Craven’s A NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST., has signed on with the studio to star in “Two more,” prompting us to confirm, “So, three total?” Haley smiles, displaying three fingers, “yeah.” You heard that right folks, expect at least two more Freddy adventures from Platinum Dunes!

I’m stoked about this, mostly because I doubt the sequels will be remakes of the original sequels, which means there may be some original Freddy movies coming our way! Not that the Dunes excelled in their ‘new’ Leatherface adventure with TCM: THE BEGINNING, but at least they took a stab at it. Doing more Freddy flicks should be a lot easier than that.

I would normally say something like “take this with a grain of salt,” but considering B-D houses the Platinum Dune’s official blog, I’m thinking they’re in the know enough for this shit to be legit. Also to note, Rooney Mara aka the new Nancy has also signed on for more entries in the series, but just one. Hmmm… does she die in the second one? I dunno…. but I’m intrigued!
