Halloween Kills: Michael Myers rises like a phoenix in new image

Rising like a mighty phoenix from the ashes of his latest would-be burial site, Michael Myers is back, baby! That's right, folks. The masked killer is once again on the prowl in a new image for Halloween Kills, the upcoming sequel to David Gordon Green and Danny McBride’s 2018 film, which picks up right where that film left off.

Recently while speaking with Empire – who debuted today's new photo – Green informed fans of the franchise that the sequel will feel more timely. “This film is about community fear, paranoia, misinformation, and crowd panic,” Green explained to Empire of Halloween Kills. “This movie is a great popcorn genre movie and not really any kind of statement, but it’s strange how things line up. It couldn’t be a more interesting time to release a movie like this.”

Would you look at my boy Michael? He's like the Energizer Bunny in that he just keeps going and going. It's almost as if moments before this picture was taken he wasn't trapped inside the burning wreckage on Laurie Strode's fortified home. Even after being locked in the basement at the end of the 2018 film, he's like "Nah, I'm not about to go out like that." He's a force of nature, and if I were Laurie and her family, I would find a new place to prepare for another battle before Michael inevitably tracks them down.

Halloween Kills is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 15, 2021, provided that the ongoing pandemic is well under control before that time. My fingers are officially crossed that this movie comes out on time because it's undoubtedly one of my most anticipated of the year.
