Now how about we turn those frowns upside down? Perhaps this is nothing to get excited about but it seems DreamWorks are making a dash for the rights to HALO, according to New York Magazine’s Vulture. Apparently the success of recent video game HALO: REACH has gotten the wheels turning again. I know what you’re asking yourself though… ‘Isn’t the HALO rights tide up in legal battles with Fox, Universal and Microsoft?’ Well yes… something like that. But you see… Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks are thinking outside the box, using novelizations of the video game. Sure this source material isn’t the best material out there but it’s better than nothing, right?
I think it’s safe to assume Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp won’t be working on the project if things do start rolling for DreamWorks but then again weirder things have happened in that crazy place called Hollywood. To check out the full article, and an awesome rundown of the background on the project, head on over to Vulture and be sure to keep it here for any sort of HALO movie news as we hear it!
