Our somewhat more civilized brothers over at JoBlo.com scored a nice bevy of stills from the upcoming eco-thriller THE HAPPENING, starring Mark Wahlberg, John Leguizamo and the adorably wide-eyed Zooey Deschanel.
Dig on the tantalizingly vague plot synopsis: A couple goes on the run from an apocalyptic crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity.
As you can see from the pics, stuff IS happening, we just can’t see what. While I don’t think it’s ever been officially stated, I’m fairly sure that this is a Mother Nature vs. Humanity flick, as we deservingly get our asses kicked by that long-suffering planet Earth. Could be wrong though. Although it’s never – ever – happened before…
