Happy Horrific Mother’s Day from Hereditary

Haha. Gotta love this new bit of marketing out of A24 for their upcoming horror flick HEREDITARY starring Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, and Ann Dowd. It's a sweet little treat for all of our mothers out there and has arrived just in time for Mother's Day (which is THIS Sunday for all you bad kids out there).

The HEREDITARY treat is actually an all-new trailer and you can check it out below.

I'm really looking forward to this movie and (sorry HALLOWEEN) it just may be my TOP must-see horror flick this year considering the word-of-mouth I've been hearing out of SXSW and other film festivals around the world has been nothing short of stunning.

The film is written and directed by Ari Aster and begins

When Ellen, the matriarch of the Graham family, passes away, her daughter's family begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited. Making his feature debut, writer-director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that exhibits the craft and precision of a nascent auteur, transforming a familial tragedy into something ominous and deeply disquieting, and pushing the horror movie into chilling new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell.

Again, I've said it before and I'll say it again, but I have not actually watched the trailer below myself. Sorry, I just want to make sure I am as fresh as a newborn baby when I walk into the theater this June. But from the quick burst of surreal horror imagery I've caught here and there, this film looks like a visual feast of flesh and family dysfunction!

The film is all ready and set to scare the hell out of each and every single one of us June 8th so mark your calendars, read our review, and don't say we didn't warn you… Now check out the Mother's Day trailer below!
