Arrow sings: “This is what you want – this is what you get!” RICHARD STANLEY’S 1990 Sci Fi/horror cult classic HARDWARE (read my review here) is one of my fav films of all time. Shit I still remember the MPAA verus HARDWARE debacle that went down when teh flick was first put out and have since craved a proper release/director’s cut. Well looks like my prayers to Goddess Athena have been answered.
According to diabolikdvd.com we can expect an UNCUT/UNCENSORED release of the film on an ALL REGION disk come SEPTEMBER 2009 via SEVERIN films. The disk will include: DD 5.1 Audio – Anamorphic Widescreen – Audio Commentary with Richard Stanley – Sea of Perdition – Short Film – a Making of Documentary and an Early Super 8 Version of Hardware. Consider this jerk SOLD! Bye Bye old and used up VHS copy of HARDWARE! Hello DVD! Can’t f*cking wait! HARDWARE stars Dylan McDermot and Stacey Travis, IT OWNS!
