Sure, EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING was a steaming pile of crap, with no entertainment values whatsoever, but the guy’s entitled to one good blunderf*ck, is he not?
That being said, Harlin has signed on to direct THE COVENANT, from the graphic novel by Aron Coleite and Tone Rodriguez. Written by J.S. Cardone, the stories about a group of four families whose patriarchs wield a vast eldritch power. Those powers have been passed down from father to son for generations. The main players in the book are Caleb, Pogue, Reid and Miller. The site says we meet them at the moment when they discover they are next in line to receive the power of the Covenant.
The story begins with the boys learning about the Covenant and how to use their powers. During that summer of fun and experimentation, they unknowingly release an evil out into the world. Four years later, the Covenant has to stop the menace they unleashed.
Well ok then! Sounds like a barrell of fun if you ask me, especially with Harlin behind the scenes. Let’s just hope it’s nothing like THE BEGINNING! More on THE COVENANT as we hear it!
