Harriet Dyer joins the cast of Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man

The reboot of THE INVISIBLE MAN that Leigh Whannell is writing and directing for Universal and Blumhouse Productions is scheduled to begin filming in Sydney, Australia next month, and the project just got its first Australian cast member.

Harriet Dyer, who stars on the NBC series The InBetween as a woman who uses her psychic visions to help solve crimes, has been cast in THE INVISIBLE MAN as… well, we don't know, because the casting announcement didn't include any character details.

Elisabeth Moss is set to star in THE INVISIBLE MAN as

Cecilia, who receives the news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide, and begins to rebuild her life for the better, but her sense of reality is put into question when she begins to suspect her deceased lover is not actually dead.

Storm Reid co-stars as a young girl named Sydney, and

with her mother gone, she’s picked up the maternal slack and is capable and mature for her age. She’s an outgoing lover of fashion who aspires to see the world, and she initially likes having Cecilia around as a role model but grows mistrustful of her when strange things begin to happen around the house.

Aldis Hodge is also in the cast in an unspecified role.

This movie's version of the title character is Adrian Griffin,

a billionaire sociopath who made his money by developing an invisibility suit for the Department of Defense.

Actors being considered for Adrian Griffin included Armie Hammer and Alexander Skarsgard, but we still haven't heard who actually will be playing the character. Back when Universal was assembling actors for their Dark Universe project, they had gotten Johnny Depp to sign on to play The Invisible Man. Depp will not be in Whannell's film.

THE INVISIBLE MAN is set to reach theatres on March 13, 2020.
