One flick heading our way that should probably have a lot more hype behind it is Adam Green’s HATCHET 2. When Green’s HATCHET hit us back in 2007 people ate that sh*t up! A balls-to-the-wall slasher that didn’t take itself too seriously and just concentrated on having a blast? How can the genre community not love a flick like that in an ocean filled with remakes and PG-13 horror? So why is HATCHET 2 not a bigger deal?
Maybe three years is a long time to hold people’s interest… or maybe I’m just oblivious and HATCHET 2 is actually highly anticipated? Either way we’re going to keep you updated on this little diddy as much as we can right up until it’s Fall release. That includes the update we’ve got for you all today! You see, Adam Green and company will be appearing at Creation’s Weekend of Horrors later today! That’s right folks! Adam Green, Danielle Harris, Tony Todd, Kane Hodder, AJ Bowen, Rileah Vanderbilt, Tom Holland, R.A. Mihailoff and Parry Shen will all be on deck to talk all things HATCHET!
To celebrate this occasion it seems Dark Sky Films have gone ahead and put out a brand new teaser poster for HATCHET 2. Alright so there really isn’t much to look at considering we’ve seen the double hatchet thing already… but at least the title treatment is brand spanking new! I’m digging it. Scope out the full poster directly below and let us know what you think!
After barely escaping the clutches of Victor Crowley, Marybeth learns the truth about his curse and heads back into the haunted New Orleans swamp to seek revenge for her family and kill Victor Crowley once and for all.
Danielle Harris (below) is along for the ride this time, replacing Tamara Feldman as ‘Marybeth.’ Along with Harris the flick also stars Tony Todd, R.A. Mihailoff, AJ Bowen, Tom Holland, Kathryn Fiore, Parry Shen, Rileah Vanderbilt, Ed Ackerman, Rick McCallum, Colton Dunn, David Foy, Nick Principe, Alexis Peters, and, of course, Kane Hodder as ‘Victor f*cking Crowley!’
So there you have it, a nice little HATCHET 2 update for you all on this fine Saturday morning. If you’re lucky enough to be in the Los Angeles area today be sure to head on over to Weekend of Horrors’ official website for all the information you’ll need on the event! And as always, be sure to keep it here for all your HATCHET goods as we hear them.
