Okay, so we weren’t really telling the truth when we said that HELLRAISER III was going to be a bare bones release when it hit August 8th.
Truth be told, DavisDVD reports that the DVD will sport some extras (though the film will still be in it’s theatrical cut). The disc will come with fifteen minutes of previously unreleased and unrated deleted scenes, “Clive Barker’s The Art of Horror” featurette and two theatrical trailers, making that $14.99 price tag that much more interesting. Though with the unreleased and unrated scenes, it begs the question ‘Why the hell didn’t you guys stick them back into the film?!’ It’s been done before with Anchor Bay‘s R2 box set, so what’s stopping Paramount? Probably the same thing that stopped them from reintegrating deleted scenes back into the FRIDAY THE 13TH films for the boxset: they don’t care.
At least, that’s what I think.
