I’m not going to lie, only one
vampire anime will ever be close to my heart and that is VAMPIRE HUNTER D,
however I am definitely intrigued by HELLSING ULTIMATE OVA series which is available on DVD Dec. 5th.
The synopsis is as follows: For over a century, the
mysterious Hellsing Organization has been protecting the British Empire from
undead “freaks”. When Integra Hellsing succeeded as the head of the
organization, she also inherited the ultimate weapon against these undead
enemies, a rogue vampire named Alucard. Armed with an enormous “anti-freak” and
possessing mysterious and frightening powers, Alucard is forced Seras Victoria,
a young police woman held hostage by a vampire. “Do you want to live?” he asks
Seras, whose very answer changes the course of her existence. Now reborn as
Alucards servant, Seras is torn between her conflicting humanity and vampire
urges.
I haven’t seen this series yet, but
when it’s released December 5th on DVD I will definitely be first in line to
check it out. The only thing better than a good anime, is a good vampire anime,
and by the sounds of it this will be a good one!
