We’ve seen a cavalcade of PRIEST footage the last few days, and it looks like the party ain’t stopping anytime soon. However, instead of outright clips from Scott Stewart’s latest assault on religion, we have a cool 4-minute behind-the-scenes featurette for the film. Cop a peek at that shite below!
Interspersing footage from the film with comments by Karl Urban (and his dusty wide-brim), Paul Bettany, screenwriter Cory Goodman, the lovely Maggie Q, Cam Gigandet, Lily Collins and Christopher Plummer – the featurette is certainly worth a look. Aside from lauding the uniqueness of the films look, what stood out to me as most interesting is the amount of stunts the principals performed on their own. Cool shite indeed!
Blessing us all on May 13th – PRIEST (in 3D) picks up in an alternate world—one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins of THE BLIND SIDE) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend (TWILIGHT’s Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (NIKITA’s Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.
Stephen Moyer, Brad Dourif, Madchen Amick, Alan Dale, Josh Wingate, Jacob Hopkins and Dave Florek also star.
