Sometimes a little film comes along that is so unique, so grotesquely awesome, so gritty and hardcore that you can’t help but want to get behind it and hope it becomes a success. Hence is the short film by indie-filmmaker Joel Potrykus, COYOTE.
Off the bat, what the hell is COYOTE all about? Check it: After each full moon, Coyote wakes up in the forest, confused and sick. With no family, no friends, and no real home, he turns to drugs to try and escape the horrors of his late-night madness.
That’s right folks, this werewolf gets addicted to smack to try and escape from his werewolf inner demon. You can’t get more awesome than that, can you? Well… maybe. What’s cool about this project is that Potrykus shot the short on Super-8 in and around Grand Rapids, Michigan. It’s nice to see some people still using the format as it gives the whole thing a scarier, grittier, dirtier look–just what a heroin addicted werewolf movie should be!
Starring Joshua Burge, you can check out the teaser trailer for the film below, and if it really blows you mind, head THIS WAY to see about ordering the DVD directly from the director. Supplies are limited so you better hurry!
