Fangoria got a first look at writer/director Marc Selz’s slasher fest HIDDEN FEARS, starring Joe Estevez (SOULSTAKER), Robert Z’Dar (MANIAC COP) and Linnea Quigley amongst others.
Take one escaped mental patient, throw in high school hotties and a stream of dead bodies, and top it off with dark family secrets- all set in Illinois- and you got HIDDEN FEARS. You can check out the

Sure, this seems to be coming off the whole SCREAM-era, but I LOVE slasher flicks, and so I’m always stoked to see a new one come out- and this one looks pretty good. Apparently it only took 30 days to film on HD-42p quality tapes and cameras- pretty impressive, as it looks to have a decent budget.
Selz talks about how the old school style of filmmaking inspired him to do this project:
“My intentions in making this movie were to improve as a director from my first feature and to move forward in a genre that I love,” he explains. “I’ve been a horror fan my entire life. I want to give horror fans the things that I love to see in these films: the jumps, the scares, the suspense and the unknown.”
I’m sure we’re going to see much more of Selz in the future. No word yet on when HIDDEN FEARS plans on making a debut, but count me there first in line!
