No duh. According to the review, It’s an updated version of what we already had, made for no other discernible reason than to make more money, and while it’s fundamentally different on multiple levels, it’s most assuredly not a good kind of different. It’s the bad kind of different that induces hair pulling and audible cursing and brand switching. If this is where the Highlander franchise is going, I think I’ll be seeing something else at the cineplex on opening weekend, thank you very much.
And that’s just the beginning… the review really gets into it, and only confirms what we’ve been saying all along. Don’t remake HIGHLANDER. Take the two film sequels, and countless TV series, made for TV movies, and STD movies, and call it a franchise. It’s over… move on!
Not that the review of the script will deter producers from moving forward, but maybe they’ll do a second draft and make it better. But let’s hope they scrap the idea completely and move on with their lives…
