Hilary Swank sees ghosts in new spookster Dreams of a Dying Heart?

Could this be a female JACOB’S LADDER?

While nothing has been made official, or even really announced…Hilary Swank may very well be attached to star in a new psychological thriller called DREAMS OF A DYING HEART. The project comes from Intandem Films, and is written by Shawn Lawrence Otto, who also hopes to direct. If Swank (pictured) does end up starring in the film, my guess it’s due to the post-war horrors that backdrop the story. Check it…

Produced by Christine Vachon, Katie Roumel and Gabriel Grunfeld – DREAMS OF A DYING HEART centers on:

Rachel Watson (Hilary Swank), who returns home after surviving a fatal chopper crash, but soon after her husband Dan and 16-year old daughter Clara meet her at the airport, strange things begin to happen. The ghost of a boy dressed in blue seems to be haunting her. She wakes up screaming and covered in blood. Pictures of her are missing from the wall. Odd voices are on the phone. And a strange middle-easterner is in her house, slowly seducing her daughter, and is somehow in league with the unbalanced wife of a soldier Rachel slept with on her tour of duty. Soon Rachel begins to realize that reality is not at all as it seems, and that she’s in a fight for her very life – and that of her only daughter.

Sounds like a pretty rad part to play, no? It’s interesting how, with two Oscars in her bag, Swank has championed the horror/thriller genre quite a bit lately, what with THE REAPING and the upcoming THE RESIDENT. What up with that?

Currently in pre-production, DREAMS OF A DYING HEART has a wide 2012 release window.
