HOLLOW MAN 2 hit DVD on May 23rd with the force of a feather, which seems fair when you consider the whole thing simply smacked of cash-grubbing STD intent. Still, there’s a trailer up at the Sony site that I hadn’t checked out before and I have to say the stupid thing looks like fun.
The story this time around stars Christian Slater and Peter Facinelli in a tale about Michael Griffin, an invisible assassin turned insane murderer, the result of an experimental invisibility serum which is driving him mad as it brings him a slow, painful death. Maggie Dalton a beautiful, brilliant research biologist, is the only person who can keep him alive but when the government uses her as bait, she must turn to a Seattle homicide detective for protection. As Griffin becomes increasingly deadly and out-of-control the detective must take the invisibility serum and become a Hollow Man himself.
So you can see why people weren’t exactly marking their calendars for the release date, but I’ll say it again, the trailer looks like fun. I may not head right out and buy this sucker, but it’s definitely going to the top of my Netflix queue.
