Homecoming starts rolling

Word on THE ORPHANAGE (above) is getting around fast. A couple of weeks ago, PJ told you about how THE ORPHANAGE is already slated to be remade here in the US, without even having the original released yet! So either it’s pretty damn good, or New Line has lost their minds (or both?). Either way, the man who wrote THE ORPHANAGE is at it again. Sergio Sanchez is taking a seat in the director’s chair for the first time with THE HOMECOMING.

“Like my shorts and ‘The Orphanage,’ I guess the film’s about an impossible return to childhood,” said Sanchez.

THE HOMECOMING is about a brother and sister who return home from a vacation to find a world without people. Sounds pretty interesting to me, I’m down. Sanchez also wrote THE HOMECOMING, as well as Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming 3993. THE HOMECOMING has just started production and is slated for a Fall 2008 release.
