Oh there you are, Peter!
Somehow, Hook is not seen as a prime Spielberg film. It has all the elements going for it, with Robin Williams perfectly cast as the adult version of the youthful Peter Pan and Steven Spielberg himself was known for being in a “Peter Pan phase” for part of his career when the director’s works had the wondrous, magical and optimistic nature of someone who “refused to grow up.” Plus, instead of a traditional adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s original story, Hook took an interesting approach and asked, “What if Peter Pan grew up?”
While the movie itself has been somewhat divisive, with even Spielberg not totally pleased with the final product, there is a generation that is absolutely enamored with this film. These fans will be able to celebrate its 35th anniversary with a new 4K Blu-ray release from Sony. Blu-ray.com has just passed along some new details for the upcoming physical media item.
The release date for the new UHD Blu-ray will be on November 17.
