Hooper dances to DVD

DavisDVD reports today that Tobe Hooper’s contribution to the MASTERS OF HORROR series in ‘Dance of the Dead’ is set for release this 12th of September, courtesy of Anchor Bay.

The episode, which is based on a story by brilliant horror novelist extraordinaire Richard Matheson and adapted by his son for the series, tells the tale of a post-apocalyptic landscape run pretty much exclusively by street thugs and degenerates, who spend a lot of their time getting their kicks at a place called The Doom Club, which features a stage show whose main attraction of which is the dance of the dead.

Featuring an anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 & 2.0 tracks, extras include commentary with director Tobe Hooper, “The Making of DANCE OF THE DEAD,” “Primal Screams: An Interview With Tobe Hooper,” “The Written Word: An Interview With Richard Matheson” and “Working With A Master: Tobe Hooper” featurettes, on-Set interviews with Jessica Lowndes, Jonathan Tucker and Robert Englund, still and storyboard galleries, trailers, talent bios and the screenplay via DVD-ROM. All in all, another packed DVD for the series by the Bay. And hey, it’s only $16.98. Mow the lawn twice and it’s yours. Expect cover artwork in the near future.
