As an Irish-Scottish-Italian born in Canada, not only am I three times as likely to develop an addiction to alcohol, I know that I should remember my roots. Which is where this next story comes in.
In Ireland (Dublin, to be exact), there’s a little horror festival going on during the last bank holiday weekend in October, which coincidently falls on Halloween this year. Started in 2001, Horrorthon has been showing a mixture of new and classic horror films every year around this time, and 2005 is no different.
With a lineup that includes films such as 2001 MANIACS, THE ROOST and FREAK OUT, obviously Dublin will be the place to be in Ireland this Halloween. For a listing of the films being shown and on what dates, point your browser here. As well as having the listings for previous festivals, the site also gives details about the founders of the “Horrorthon” club and the their
first feature film they co-produced called DEAD MEAT (which is not the one with Ron “Hedgehog” Jeremy).
