Day of the Dead: Bloodline trailer is coated in zombie puke

Day of the Dead: Bloodline Sophie Skelton Johnathon Schaech

The people who put out remakes of George A. Romero's 1985 classic DAY OF THE DEAD seem to have a fascination with having their zombies puke. The marketing team behind the first remake of the film, 2008's DAY OF THE DEAD, seemed to think that zombie puke was a major selling point, putting together artwork for the film that featured a zombie puking out a stream of human-flavored slime with an eyeball in it. Now we have a trailer for another DAY OF THE DEAD remake, DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE, and in this trailer we have a shot of a zombie puking all over somebody's face.

I can't say I ever gave much thought to zombie puke, but these folks sure love it.

As for the rest of the trailer that's around the moment of zombie puke… I guess it's okay. It seems like your average bargain basement zombie flick, but this one just happens to have lifted elements from Romero's DAY OF THE DEAD. And it has running zombies like in Zack Snyder's remake of Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD.

Directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens, this new DAY has the following synopsis:

In a post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled society, a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past. The only thing is, he’s a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her world.

The film stars Sophie Skelton, Lorina Kamburova, Marcus Vanco, Nick Loeb, Rachel O'Meara, Debbie Sherman, Luke Cousins, Nathan Cooper, Cristina Serafini, and Johnathon Schaech.

DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE is scheduled to be released into theatres and onto VOD and Digital HD on January 5th, 2018.
