Haunted City set to be McG-directed movie, comic AND TV pilot!

Talk about a project taking advantage of different media platforms; you can expect to hear a lot about HAUNTED CITY in the near future, as Deadline.com reports that the title is set to be turned into a comic book, a TV pilot and a feature film.

This all derives from director McG’s newest venture, a graphic novel/comic book imprint spun off from his production company, Wonderland Sound and Vision. (The studio produces “Supernatural” and “Nikita”, among other things.) HAUNTED CITY, based off of an idea by CHANGING LANES scribe Chap Taylor, is the first project announced, and it’s simultaneously being written as a comic, pilot and screenplay, with McG eying the latter as a directorial effort. (He’ll first work on Universal’s OUIJA movie.)

Plot details are almost nonexistent, but we do know that the comic is a dark, supernatural story set in major cities around the world, with New York the venue for the first comic.

The TERMINATOR SALVATION director said: “As a filmmaker, I want to work with talent like Chap to build new models that allow us to create more freely. By creating our own original properties, we can guide their development across several media simultaneously and kick off a whole new chapter of our company as a full-spectrum content provider. It also allows me to home-grow the movies I want to direct in the future.”
