Lionsgate: RAMBO 5 will go out in a big “truly unexpected” way

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Stallone's RAMBO 5: THE LAST BLOOD is in the can as they say and is all set to slash, gash, and bash its way into a theater near you later this year in September. And today Screen Rant Editorial Director Rob Keyes took to Twitter to let us all know that Lionsgate boss Joe Drake recently said in regards to Stallone's RAMBO: THE LAST BLOOD: It's going to be going out in a big way in something “truly unexpected.” Specifically, he wrote:

Lionsgate boss Joe Drake on Rambo: Last Blood – Rambo is going out in a big way in something “truly unexpected.”

Hopefully, this doesn't mean that Rambo will bite the bullet this time around. After all, we all kind of expect that to happen with each new entry so the death of Rambo isn't exactly, you know, "truly unexpected." So what do YOU think the powers that be behind the scenes mean? Let us know below!

RAMBO 5: THE LAST BLOOD sees:

Vietnam vet John Rambo take on the Mexican drug cartels after the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped.

Avi Lerner’s Millennium is behind the film, which is directed by Adrian Grunberg (GET THE GRINGO) from a screenplay by Matthew Cirulnick (PAID IN FULL). Kevin King Templeton and Les Weldon are producing, with Lerner, Trevor Short, and Boaz Davidson exec producing. Stallone's costars include Paz Vega as "Carmen Delgado, a reporter who covers the Mexican drug trade and teams up with Rambo after her younger half-sister is kidnapped," and Yvette Monreal is taking on the role of the younger half-sister in question. It will hit theaters in wide release via Lionsgate on September 20, 2019.
