Marvel & Hulu working on Blade series?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Yesterday we passed along the news that Marvel and Hulu are teaming up for new shows based on GHOST RIDER and HELLSTROM. And today we have word that another Marvel series might be in the works over at Hulu, this time involving the Daywalker himself BLADE. The rumor – or better yet the "theory" – was put forth by our buddies over at ComicBook.com and while the logic behind this new theory is kind of spotty, all the same…

It goes a little something like this:

Marvel exclaims to readers that "the Spirits of Vengeance are coming," an interesting point of view when only one Ghost Rider is involved. You see the name is always associated with a Ghost Rider, no matter if it was Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, or Robbie Reyes. Most recently, however, Spirits of Vengeance was actually a mini-series at Marvel Comics featuring, you guessed it, Ghost Rider, the Hellstrom siblings, and none other than the Daywalker himself, Erick Brooks/Blade.

For those who may have forgotten, if this rumor ends up being true, this would not be the first BLADE series put upon the screen. Back in 2006, Spike TV put out BLADE: THE TV SERIES starring Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones in the title role. But let's just keep forgetting that show happened.

Hopefully, we hear something more concrete soon. Until then, how much would you like to see Marvel and Hulu team up for a new BLADE series? Let us know below! The original BLADE followed this synopsis:

Half-mortal, half-immortal is out to avenge his mother's death and rid the world of vampires. The modern-day technologically advanced vampires he is going after are in search of his special blood type needed to summon an evil god who plays a key role in their plan to execute the human race.

The original 1997 adaptation was directed by Stephen Norrington (THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN)  from a screenplay written by David S. Goyer based on the character created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan. Peter Frankfurt, Wesley Snipes, Robert Engelman, Andrew J. Horne, and Avi Arad produced. It starred Snipes, Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson, N'Bushe Wright, and Donal Logue. But it on Blu-ray HERE.
