Timothy Omundson joins Fox's Lucifer in a big role: God himself

The charismatic actor Timothy Omundson has made impressions all over pop culture, having played the roles of King Richard in Galavant, Carlton Lassiter in Psych, Cain in Supernatural, and Brom Garrett in Deadwood. Now he's going to be guest starring on Fox's Lucifer this Spring in what might be his biggest role yet... God himself?

The exact nature of his role is a little in question. He'll play God Johnson, "a patient in a psychiatric hospital, who is charming, enigmatic, and thinks he’s the one and only God Almighty. But, as Lucifer tries to prove him a phony, he comes to find that “God Johnson” seems to know things that only Lucifer’s true Father would know." Seems pretty fishy to me... At any rate, I'm excited to see him anywhere and I'm glad he's lending his talents to even one episode.

The show revolves around:

Lucifer (Tom Ellis), who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Lucifer also stars Lauren German (“Chicago Fire”) as Chloe Dancer, an LAPD homicide detective who finds herself both repulsed and fascinated by Lucifer; Lesley-Ann Brandt (“Spartacus”) as Lucifer’s best friend Maze, a fierce demon who takes the form of a human woman; Nicholas Gonzalez (“Sleepy Hollow”) as Dan, an LAPD homicide detective wary of Lucifer; D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, an angel sent to L.A. to persuade Lucifer to return to hell; and Rachael Harris as Linda, Lucifer’s therapist.

Lucifer airs on Fox Mondays at 9PM. In two weeks, the show will go on hiatus, returning May 1st.
