Will Vin Diesel play Last Witch Hunter for director Breck Eisner?

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

THE LAST WITCH HUNTER is a project that has been trying to pull itself together for about two years. Back in March of 2010, Timur Bekmambetov was close to directing the horror-fantasy, only to be replaced a year later by CRAZIES helmer Breck Eisner. While Eisner is still on board, the project’s status hasn’t been updated much, although evidently what it was really lacking was a leading man to push it forward… Today could mark the end of its problems.

According to The Wrap, none other than Vin Diesel is negotiating to star in the film, which was picked up by Summit Entertainment in 2010. No telling how close Diesel is to actually signing on, but the site’s scoop comes from “an individual familiar with the talks.” Take that for what it’s worth.

Written by Cory Goodman (PRIEST) and produced by Adam Goldworm (“Masters of Horror”), THE LAST WITCH HUNTER follows one of the last remaining witch hunters, a breed that keeps the population of witches and warlocks in check, who is charged with the task of stopping a major repopulation.
