Happy Halloween folks! What a great day to begin the week with right? Hope you all had fun celebrating this weekend! So lets have a looksee at what happened at the Box Office this weekend, the weekend where studios thought it not necessary to release any horror, for shame.
Well to start with PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 took quite the drop, 60% drop in fact as audiences lost interest in the film. They apparently wanted to check out some pussy, I mean PUSS IN BOOTS with Antonio Banderas. Strange, yet the film has racked in enough to possibly become the biggest Halloween weekend opener of all-time, currently a title held by SAW III.
The other release we’ve been covering IN TIME came in at third, it didn’t do as well as hoped and negative reviews might have been to blame. My friend described it as ‘the studios GATTACA’ and for me that spells DVD watch. The other horror release that was in the Top 10 last week THE THING has pretty much dropped off.
Next week we don’t have any genre releases to look forward to but the following week we have IMMORTALS, 11-11-11 and MELANCHOLIA to look forward to.
