How fortunate! A Series of Unfortunate Events will indeed get a Season 3!

Aw yeah! Do you remember when, back in mid-March, we reported on Netflix's A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS being picked up for a second season? Well, you can go ahead and add a third season to that order because it's been confirmed that the Neil Patrick Harris-led series was renewed, yet again, for more tales of deception, death and dreadfully dark comedic adventures.

The Paramount Television program is written by Daniel Handler (commonly known as Lemony Snicket himself), who acts as executive producer on the show alongside Barry Sonnenfeld. Based on the international best-selling series of books, the Netflix-only show also features actors Patrick Warburton (as a fictional and very dour Lemony Snicket), Joan Cusack, Alfre Woodard, Catherine O'Hara, Aasif Mandvi and Don Johnson among several others.

Of course, Neil Patrick Harris leads the adaptation as Count Olaf, the nefarious guardian of the Baudelaire orphans – Violet, Klaus and Sunny – who will stop at nothing to get his spindly mitts on their inheritance. As the children manage to evade Count Olaf's sinister plots to steal their fortune, they begin to discover clues about their parents' sordid past. However, Count Olaf is a smart cookie, and will stop at nothing until he has precisely what he wants.

While you wait for more exciting news about this black, family-friendly comedy, you can check out the first season of the show which is available to stream on Netflix right now
