It really hasn’t gotten any easier out there for a pimp. Or at least Terrence Howard. If you were surprised by Marvel quite suddenly recasting Don Cheadle in the role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man’s BFF Jim Rhodes in the upcoming IRON MAN sequel, imagine how Terrence Howard, who played Rhodes in the original, feels? He apparently found out via the Trades just like the rest of us that he had essentially been fired from the film. The cool peeps over at CHUD recently uncovered an NPR interview where he’s asked about it and mentioned the following: It was the surprise of a lifetime. There was no explanation. [The contract] just…up and vanished. I read something in the trades implicating that it was about money or something, but apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren’t worth the paper that they’re printed on, sometimes. Promises aren’t kept, and good faith negotiations aren’t always held up.” Yipes. Of course, we don’t know the real story because both parties will spin things to curry favor with the general public but if there’s any truth to it whatsoever, wow. Talk about a real dickwad move by the studio. It’s not like Howard is an untalented nobody. Thoughts?
