Well, my friends, it looks like there’s some serious shit going down in the jungle in the forthcoming French genre effort HUMAINS. I know this because I just checked out the brand new teaser trailer for the flick, which you can watch as well by simply clicking on the link below. Not a whole lot is revealed regarding what is causing such panic in the faces of the people running all over the place, however I feel that is a good thing. The unknown is oftentimes much scarier than what is shown. Hey, that rhymes. Anyways, you might as well breathe in the plot before you plunge into the trailer, so here it is:
A team of several researchers travel to the Swiss Alps to investigate a scientific discovery on human evolution. The trip, however, turns into a deadly fight for survival when the team crash into a gully and find themselves falling prey to someone…or something.
Is it a race of partially developed Neanderthals? A group of inbred French yokels? Snow-boarding cannibals? I guess we won’t find out until HUMAINS comes out in the U.S., but there’s no set release date yet! Oh well. The flick was dual-directed by first-timers Pierre-Olivier Thévenin and Jacques-Olivier Molon. The script came from the team of Jean-Armand Bougrelle and Frédérique Henri. The cast includes Lorànt Deutsch, Dominique Pinon, Philippe Nahon (the creepy villain in HIGH TENSION), and Sara Forestier.
