If you’ve seen DUEL or JOYRIDE, you’ve most likely seen HUSH, a British thriller that gives us another pissed-off truck driver bent on teaching some nasty lessons to an innocent couple. The last thing I saw that had a similar plot was the first segment of AMUSEMENT, which is a dreadful viewing experience that I hope you’re able to avoid for as long as you live. This one might end up being better, but of course I’ll have to actually see the film first. Based on the trailer and poster, I’m “meh” on it.
In HUSH, a young couple, Zakes and Beth, are driving up a dark, rain-soaked M1, when they are abruptly cut off by a wildly-driven truck. For a brief moment, the back of the truck rolls open to reveal what looks like a distressed, half-naked woman, tied up and caged. Soon, Zakes and Beth are engaged in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with the truck driver, a mysterious hooded figure.
The film stars Will Ash, Christine Bottomley, Claire Keelan, Stuart McQuarrie, Robbie Gee, Sheila Reid And Andreas Wisniewski. It hits U.K. cinemas on March 13th.
