Have you ever been at home during a warm summer day and heard the faint chimes of carnival music approaching from off in the distance? Does it ever make you ponder your impending doom? I’m sorry for that strange opening, but I have never trusted the ice cream man and never will. Luring kids up to his creepy truck with the promise of frozen treats… frozen, huh? You know where a good place to keep dead bodies is?
Okay, enough ranting. Now, if Crispin Glover were my local ice cream man, I’d really be shitting my pants! Which is why the former “George McFly” is such an inspired choice to play the lead baddie in THE I SCREAM MAN, a horror flick that’s been MIA for a while. I last reported on it over a year ago and that was to say that it had been delayed! However, we now finally have a bit of good news to spread.
The flick’s writer, J.T. Mollner, apparently got the word our that John Schneider and Christopher Eberts (STAG NIGHT) are now on board as producers. Schneider was also recast as the heroine’s father. Mollner went on to say, “I am locked as director. Mikos Zavros will be acting in it, and the two of us will be fine-tuning the script. Either way, I Scream Man is still alive.” Okay, I guess that sounds pretty sweet, though no start date was given yet. At least Crispin Glover and Dee Wallace, who have been on since day one, are still locked in as well.
Here’s a taste of the plot: A small, sleepy town with a dark secret gets a taste of death when a psychologically bruised street vendor shows up wielding something much sharper than an ice cream scoop.
