Turning the stories of mystery and thriller writer Harlan Coben into limited series has become a major business in recent years. In the last decade, there have been well over a dozen Coben-inspired TV shows – and the latest one, titled I Will Find You, will be reaching the Netflix streaming service on June 18th. (A date specifically chosen because it leads into Father’s Day weekend in multiple countries.) With the show’s premiere just a couple of weeks away, a trailer for I Will Find You has dropped online and can be seen in the embed above.
Here’s the logline: An innocent father serving life for the murder of his own son receives evidence that his child may still be alive—and must break out of prison to find out the truth.
The eight-episode series stars Sam Worthington, Britt Lower, Milo Ventimiglia, Logan Browning, Erin Richards, Chi McBride, and Jonathan Tucker.
Also in the cast, taking on guest roles, are Hugh Thompson, Peter Outerbridge, Christopher Redman, Eric Johnson, Greg Bryk, Kate Vernon, Tara Rosling, Darrin Baker, Aaron Ashmore, Nicola Correia-Damude, Rachel Wilson, Billy MacLellan, Clancy Brown, and Madeleine Stowe.
Coben told Tudum, “I came to [showrunner] Robby Hull with this idea, and we brought it to Netflix as a possible TV show while I was writing the novel, which I’ve never done before. We shared a vision in how we wanted to tell I Will Find You so it will grip you, and not just grip you and move you, but really get emotional at the end.“
Tudum confirmed that I Will Find You features “a few tense chase sequences, including one across the rooftops of a New York apartment complex.” Speaking on that particular sequence, Hull said, “The easiest way to show somebody’s commitment is to put them in a dangerous situation and have them do whatever they can to get out of it. That is one of those days you go to work, and go, ‘I can’t believe I’m doing this for a living.’“
Coben and creator / showrunner / writer Hull executive produced the series alongside Bryan Wynbrandt, Steven Lilien, John Weber, and Brad Anderson. John G. Lenic and Heather Mitchell are co-executive producers, with John Mabry as supervising producer, Eric Guggenheim as consulting producer, and Desmond Paes and Zoe Cheng as co-producers.
Brad Anderson, Maja Vrvilo, Adam Davidson, and Maggie Kelly directed the episodes of the show, working from scripts by Hull, Wynbrandt, Lilien, and Mitchell.
